Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to book your New Zealand hunt with confidence.

Content note The existing FAQ content carries over unchanged. The entries below are drop-in examples using this refreshed accordion template — replace with the approved Q&A copy from the current /faq/ page during migration.
How much does a hunt cost?
Our big game hunting packages start at $6,500 USD, and multi-species hunts start at $12,000 USD. Because our hunts are on privately owned land, we don’t offer budget, no-frills options. Every quote is tailored — request a quote and we’ll reply within one working day.
When is the best time to hunt?
Red Stag runs February–August, alpine Tahr and Chamois April–August, and family/non-hunter adventures are available year round. We’ll help you pick the ideal window for the species you’re after.
Can I bring my own firearm, or should I hire one?
Both are options. We guide you through New Zealand’s firearm import requirements before you travel, or you can hire a quality rifle from us. See Before the Hunt for full details.
Can non-hunters and families come along?
Absolutely — this is one of our specialties. With so many sightseeing opportunities nearby, we pair non-hunters with an experienced local guide to build an itinerary at their own pace. Family & non-hunter safaris start at $2,000 USD per person.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend planning your travel and activities 9–10 months in advance to secure your preferred dates and species.
What happens to my trophies and meat?
We prepare your trophies and meat for you to take home, and can arrange taxidermy and shipping. See After the Hunt for the full process.
